Our Mares

OUR BROODMARES are from some of the finest bloodlines the breed has to offer. They all demonstrate classic Rocky dispositions, gait, and conformation, yet each one has her own special mark of perfection that is stamped on each of her foals.

Our PREMIER red chocolate broodmare, "Yankee's Lady", is a true matriarch of the Rocky Mountain Horse breed. She is a direct daughter of Yankee, a son of TOBE. Lady is the dam of the famous stallion "Last of the Mohicans" (by KCS), and she is the dam of the RMHA International Trail Pleasure Grand Champion "South Forty's Francesca".  Lady has an easy-going, trail gait prized by riders of the old-time Rocky Mountain Horse.  She gaits freely in the pasture and passes this gait onto her offspring. Because she is an elderly mare, we are never sure when she will have her last foal. Therefore, each pregnancy is precious indeed. Lady is confirmed pregnant to Cedar Hill Sam for a 2013 foal (see our FOR SALE page for details on reserving this foal)......  Click HERE for Yankee's Lady's pedigree.

Our black broodmare, Rusty Creek's Angel, is affectionately nicknamed "Lena". Her pedigree is loaded with names like Buddy Roe, Sewell's Sam, Kilburn's Chocolate Sundown, Dock, and Johnson's Toby.  She has unusually hard hoofs that never need special care.  She puts beautiful foals on the ground that have her exceptional "people-friendly" disposition.  Every day, Lena meets us at the gate so she can walk us to the barn.  She is one of a kind and a very special mare.....  Click HERE for Lena's pedigree.   

Our chocolate mare, "Nick's Little Nikki" is a daughter of Nick, by Sam Clemons Tim. She is our show mare, as well as our RMHA Trail Competition mare, with a smooth and even ground-covering gait. Nikki is special to us because she was our first Rocky. She has not been bred as of yet because she is simply too much fun to ride. Presently, we plan to keep her as our riding mare unless the right person comes along who wants to reserve a foal from her with a deposit.....  Click HERE for Nikki's pedigree.  

Our palomino mare, Comet's Golden Shamrock, is the daughter of the renowned stallion THE COMET, and out of our mare, Lena.  "Shammie", as we call her, has her dam's unusually friendly and trusting nature, and her sire's beauty and gait. She is newly certified to breed and we are enjoying her under-saddle.....  Click HERE for Shammie's pedigree.    

Our bay mare, Nuncio's Ozark LiteMyFire, has an excellent pedigree with well-known KCS, Sam, and Yankee bloodlines. Her conformation is superb with smooth topline, gorgeous head, and an old-time stocky build. LiteMyFire was shown for the first time in 2012 and won 2nd place in the 5YO/over CONFORMATION Class (against well-known stallions, mares, and geldings) at the Tri-State RMHA Show in KY. Presently, we plan to keep her as our riding mare unless the right person comes along who wants to reserve a foal from her with a deposit.....  Click HERE for LiteMyFire's pedigree.
